R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The eBridge Center for Business and |
|
Commercialization is making important contributions to the |
|
economic vitality of Brownsville and the Rio Grande Valley; and |
|
WHEREAS, One of the largest startup incubators and |
|
entrepreneurial resource centers in the Rio Grande Valley, the |
|
eBridge Center works to commercialize scalable businesses, create |
|
local jobs, establish entrepreneurial equity, and develop an open |
|
and inclusive ecosystem for all entrepreneurs; and |
|
WHEREAS, The eBridge Center offers business incubation |
|
programming from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley |
|
Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center, and it encompasses |
|
a U.S. Patent and Trademark Resource Center, the Small Business |
|
Development Center, the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center, |
|
Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Veterans Business |
|
Outreach Center, Nonprofit Resource Center, and the Blueprint Lab |
|
Prototyping Space for research and development of emerging |
|
industries; in addition, the eBridge Center has received a Soft |
|
Landings designation from InBIA, and it is home to the StartUp Texas |
|
Accelerator Program; and |
|
WHEREAS, The establishment of the eBridge Center for Business |
|
and Commercialization was made possible through a collaborative |
|
partnership between the Brownsville Community Improvement |
|
Corporation, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the City of |
|
Brownsville, the United States Economic Development |
|
Administration, the United States Small Business Administration, |
|
and the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council; and |
|
WHEREAS, The eBridge Center for Business and |
|
Commercialization has benefited the community by providing |
|
essential support to area businesses and entrepreneurs, and the |
|
organization is indeed deserving of special recognition for its |
|
many achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize the eBridge Center for Business and |
|
Commercialization for its contributions to the Brownsville and Rio |
|
Grande Valley communities and extend to all those associated with |
|
the organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the eBridge Center as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
