R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Carson Huey-You graduated from Texas Christian |
|
University on May 13, 2017, at just 14 years of age, earning the |
|
distinction of becoming the youngest graduate in the school's |
|
history; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Huey-You demonstrated uncommon scholastic |
|
ability early on, and after being homeschooled for a couple of |
|
years, he entered the eighth grade at age five and went on to |
|
receive his high school diploma in 2013, at the age of 10; and |
|
WHEREAS, A physics major, Mr. Huey-You spent much of his |
|
undergraduate career conducting research on such topics as |
|
cancerous tumor growths and energy eigenvalues of quantum |
|
mechanical states; moreover, he double minored in mathematics and |
|
Chinese, and he placed third in the Southern U.S. region at the |
|
"Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition hosted by the |
|
Confucius Institute; he plans to attend graduate school at TCU in |
|
the fall, and he hopes to one day enjoy a career as a quantum |
|
physicist; and |
|
WHEREAS, This exceptional young Texan is a source of |
|
tremendous pride to his family and his community, and he is indeed |
|
deserving of special recognition for this extraordinary |
|
achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Carson Huey-You on his graduation |
|
from Texas Christian University and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Huey-You as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
