H.R. No. 2240

	R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The McAllen Independent School District Business
	Office has been selected to receive a 2015 Certificate of
	Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government
	Finance Officers Association; and
	WHEREAS, Established in 1945, this accolade is the top form
	of recognition given by the GFOA in the area of governmental
	accounting and financial reporting; and
	WHEREAS, McAllen ISD earned its fifth consecutive
	certificate for the submission of its comprehensive annual
	financial report for fiscal year 2014; in addition to attaining
	this notable goal, the business office has been honored for its
	accounting practices with Leadership Circle Platinum Seal and Gold
	Seal Awards from the Office of the Texas Comptroller of Public
	Accounts as well as with the highest rating of the School Financial
	Integrity Rating System of Texas and a high quality bond rating
	from the Moody's, Standard & Poor's, and Fitch credit rating
	agencies; and
	WHEREAS, Keeping transparent records of how public money is
	spent helps to maintain a high level of trust between citizens and
	their government, and the McAllen Independent School District truly
	merits praise for its accomplishments in this worthy endeavor; now,
	therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
	Legislature hereby congratulate the McAllen Independent School
	District Business Office on its receipt of a Certificate of
	Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the
	Government Finance Officers Association and commend the staff for
	their outstanding work; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for the school district as an expression of high regard by
	the Texas House of Representatives.
