A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to participation of state agency employees in the review |
|
|
of the agency by the Sunset Advisory Commission. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 325.019, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) Commission staff may have access to and interview any |
|
|
employee of a state agency being reviewed by the commission under |
|
|
this chapter and an employee of the state agency may voluntarily |
|
|
participate in the review process. The state agency may not take an |
|
|
adverse employment action against an employee based on the |
|
|
employee's participation in the review process. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
