| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 411, Government Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 411.0542 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 411.0542. REQUIRED INFORMATION FOR FEDERAL | ||
| INCIDENT-BASED CRIME STATISTICS REPORTING. The department and all | ||
| local law enforcement agencies that use an incident-based reporting | ||
| system to report information and statistics concerning criminal | ||
| offenses committed in this state to the Federal Bureau of | ||
| Investigation, as a part of the Uniform Crime Reporting Program of | ||
| the Federal Bureau of Investigation, shall include the ethnicity of | ||
| an arrestee in the reported incident. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025. | ||
