A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to the use by a school district or district employee of |
|
certain existing student curriculum materials developed or |
|
provided by a regional education service center. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 8, Education Code, is |
|
amended by adding Section 8.0532 to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 8.0532. PROHIBITION ON SCHOOL DISTRICT USE OF |
|
CURRICULUM. Notwithstanding any other provision of this |
|
subchapter, a school district may not use or authorize its teachers |
|
or employees to use student curriculum products developed or |
|
provided before August 31, 2013, by a regional education service |
|
center acting in collaboration with one or more other regional |
|
education service centers. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the |
|
legislative session. |
