A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the use of competitive bidding for certain purchases by |
|
|
the Texas Education Agency. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 2155, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 2155.151 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 2155.151. CERTAIN PURCHASES BY TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY. |
|
|
Notwithstanding Chapter 2054 and Section 2155.132(e), the Texas |
|
|
Education Agency shall use competitive bidding for any purchase of |
|
|
curriculum, software, or technology that exceeds $1,000. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
