A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to eligibility to serve on the appraisal review board of |
|
|
certain appraisal districts. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 6.412(e), Tax Code, is amended to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
(e) A person who has served for all or part of three |
|
|
consecutive terms as a board member on an appraisal review board is |
|
|
ineligible to serve on the [appraisal review] board during a term |
|
|
that begins on the next January 1 following the third of those |
|
|
consecutive terms. The limitation prescribed by this subsection |
|
|
does not apply to a member of the appraisal review board of an |
|
|
appraisal district established for a county having a population of |
|
|
less than 100,000 if, at the time the board member's term expires, |
|
|
there is no person seeking appointment to the board who is eligible |
|
|
under this subchapter to serve on the board and who could fill that |
|
|
member's position on the board. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
