SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 403
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Olmito Water Supply Corporation, which is celebrating
  50 years of service to the community; and
 
         WHEREAS, Olmito Water Supply Corporation was established
  as a nonprofit organization in March of 1967; for five decades,
  the company has provided quality water and sanitary sewer service
  to the residents of Olmito, a rural community in Cameron
  County; and
 
         WHEREAS, Olmito Water Supply Corporation has grown
  considerably since its establishment; in its early years, the
  facility serviced around 100 water connections, and today it
  manages more than 2,100 water connections and approximately
  1,600 sewer connections that serve more than 8,000 customers; in
  2011, the water treatment plant's capacity was expanded to treat
  two million gallons of water each day; and
 
         WHEREAS, The success of Olmito Water Supply Corporation
  has been made possible by a group of exemplary community leaders
  and with the support of local, state, and national governments;
  the company has improved the quality of life for thousands of
  rural Texans, and its 50th anniversary is indeed cause for
  celebration; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 85th
  Legislature, hereby commend all associated with Olmito Water
  Supply Corporation for their service to the residents of Olmito
  and extend to them congratulations on the corporation's 50th
  anniversary; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the company as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
