| WHEREAS, Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Awareness Day is | ||
| taking place on March 29, 2019; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ambulatory surgery centers, also known as ASCs, | ||
| are modern health care facilities that provide patients with | ||
| same-day surgical care, including diagnostic and preventive | ||
| procedures, that enable patients to return to their homes to | ||
| recover on the same day; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A growing alternative to hospitalization and other | ||
| institution-based forms of health care, ASCs serve hundreds of | ||
| thousands of Texans each year; they are also an efficient and | ||
| lower-cost option for many patients, resulting in millions of | ||
| dollars in savings for the Texas health care system; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ambulatory surgery centers are helping to meet | ||
| the growing demand for quality, cost-efficient, and more | ||
| convenient outpatient procedures, and Ambulatory Surgery Center | ||
| Awareness Day offers a welcome opportunity to honor their | ||
| contributions; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th | ||
| Legislature, hereby recognize March 29, 2019, as Texas | ||
| Ambulatory Surgery Center Awareness Day and commend ambulatory | ||
| surgery centers for their efforts to address the health care | ||
| needs of Texans. | ||
