| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Paul Hill for his outstanding work as an intern in the | ||
| office of Senator Royce West during the 84th Legislative Session; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Paul Hill is a student at The University of Texas | ||
| School of Law; he is a highly motivated student who has | ||
| contributed to the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties and Civil | ||
| Rights, and he serves as treasurer of OUTlaw; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Before interning for the legislature, Paul gained | ||
| extensive experience by serving as a legal clerk for several | ||
| organizations that assist underserved populations; his work | ||
| included clerking for the Civil Rights Clinic at The University | ||
| of Texas School of Law; and | ||
| WHEREAS, As a legislative intern, Paul wrote talking | ||
| points for the senator and acquired practical knowledge of the | ||
| governmental process by performing research and bill analysis on | ||
| law and policy in important subject areas; he gained insight on | ||
| numerous issues by meeting with constituents, interest groups, | ||
| and local leaders; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Paul exceeded expectations throughout his | ||
| internship, and his experience will be of great benefit as he | ||
| continues on his path of academic and career success; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th | ||
| Legislature, hereby commend Paul Hill for his many contributions | ||
| to the office of Senator Royce West as a legislative intern and | ||
| extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
