HOUSE BILL NO. 937 AMENDMENT IN THE NATURE OF A SUBSTITUTE (Proposed by the House Committee on Appropriations on January 31, 2024) (Patron Prior to Substitute--Delegate LeVere Bolling) A BILL to express the intent of the General Assembly regarding innovative alternative school transportation options.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. §1. It is the intent of the General Assembly that school boards encourage the implementation of innovative low-cost or no-cost alternatives to transporting students to and from school on school buses, including organizing or otherwise facilitating, encouraging, or supporting biking or walking school buses whereby groups of students ride bicycles or walk to and from school.
