WHEREAS, Emily Beer, a member of the Richmond community who devoted her life to helping and supporting others, died on January 1, 2024; and
WHEREAS, Emily Beer had lived in the Commonwealth for more than a decade and was a talented entrepreneur who owned a graphic design business; and
WHEREAS, outside of her career, Emily Beer was a passionate activist who supported a number of nonprofit organizations, charities, and worthy causes at the local, state, and national levels; and
WHEREAS, Emily Beer was a longtime volunteer with the Virginia Young Democrats, a supporter of Virginia Against Youth Discrimination, and a staff member of the Virginia House Democratic Caucus and the office of Delegate Charniele Herring; and
WHEREAS, outside of her career and community service, Emily Beer was deeply spiritual, and she enjoyed spending time with her dog, Honey, and sampling the Commonwealth's many fine restaurants; and
WHEREAS, Emily Beer's personal mission in life was to ensure that other people were happy, healthy, and successful; she created joy wherever she could and went out of her way to solve problems without being asked; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Emily Beer; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Emily Beer as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for her memory.
