WHEREAS, Everett Earl Walle, Jr., of Mechanicsville, a patriotic veteran and a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died on July 27, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Everett Walle was born in Van Nuys, California, and grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where he cultivated his passion for the sport of baseball and became a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs; and
WHEREAS, Everett Walle graduated from Lane Tech College Prep High School in Chicago and attended North Carolina State University; and
WHEREAS, Everett Walle proudly joined the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in North Carolina and Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, where he worked on the plane of the commandant of the Marine Corps'; and
WHEREAS, over the course of his military service, Everett Walle also served on an atomic, biological, and chemical defense team; and
WHEREAS, Everett Walle subsequently pursued a career in marketing and management for more than 50 years; and
WHEREAS, in addition, Everett Walle played semi-professional baseball and later played softball in Henrico County and Hanover County for more than two decades; he served as president of the Hanover Senior Softball League for eight years; and
WHEREAS, Everett Walle's proudest achievements were those as husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 49 years, Kathleen; his daughter, Jennifer, and her family; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Everett Earl Walle, Jr., a veteran and a highly admired member of the Mechanicsville community; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Everett Earl Walle, Jr., as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
