WHEREAS, Olivia LoBalbo is the founder of the Animal Education and Rescue Organization, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned, injured, and sick wildlife in Northern Virginia; and
WHEREAS, after several years working in veterinary clinics as an inventory manager and in other capacities, as well as volunteering with nonprofit organizations, Olivia LoBalbo founded the Animal Education and Rescue Organization (A.E.R.O.) in 2013; and
WHEREAS, at A.E.R.O., Olivia LoBalbo leads staff members licensed by the Department of Wildlife Resources to serve as wildlife rehabilitators, apprentices, and care providers; and
WHEREAS, under Olivia LoBalbo's guidance, A.E.R.O. staff devote hundreds of hours to helping wildlife in their care recover to good health so that they may survive on their own, enabling them to return to their native habitats in the wild; and
WHEREAS, Olivia LoBalbo has overseen the admission of thousands of animals from the public, animal control officers, humane societies, local wildlife centers, and veterinary clinics since the founding of A.E.R.O., making an outsized impact on the health and well-being of the Commonwealth's wildlife; and
WHEREAS, in addition to A.E.R.O.'s care services, Olivia LoBalbo also spearheads the organization's efforts to advise the public on how to assist animals in need of support and to promote awareness and understanding of how to coexist with wildlife in the suburban environs of Northern Virginia; and
WHEREAS, with great vision and determination, Olivia LoBalbo has made impressive strides in the care and rehabilitation of the Commonwealth's wild fauna through her work with A.E.R.O., earning the esteem and admiration of all Virginians; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That Olivia LoBalbo hereby be commended for her accomplishments as the founder of the Animal Education and Rescue Organization; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Olivia LoBalbo as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's high regard for her mission and best wishes for her continued success.
