SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 132
Commending Sarah Everhardt.

 

Agreed to by the Senate, March 6, 2024

 

WHEREAS, Sarah Everhardt, a junior at Battlefield High School in Haymarket, earned a pewter medal at the Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Columbus, Ohio, in January 2024; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Everhardt grew up in Haymarket and has been ice skating since the age of five; she currently trains in Reston and is a member of the Washington Figure Skating Club; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Everhardt qualified for her first senior nationals tournament by winning a gold medal at the 2024 Eastern Sectional Singles Final in Coral Springs, Florida, in November 2023; and

WHEREAS, in her national debut at the Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships, Sarah Everhardt finished third in the free skate portion with a personal best of 130.16 points and finished sixth in the short program with 63.21 points; and

WHEREAS, with 193.37 points overall, Sarah Everhardt finished in fourth place to secure the pewter medal; and

WHEREAS, Sarah Everhardt is supported by her parents, Jonathan and Ekaterina Everhardt, and by her dedicated coaches, Tatyana Malinina, Roman Skornyakov, and Alexei Kiliakov, and choreographer, Nadezhda Kanaeva; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate of Virginia, That Sarah Everhardt hereby be commended on winning a pewter medal at the 2024 Prevagen U.S. Figure Skating Championships; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Sarah Everhardt as an expression of the Senate of Virginia's admiration for her achievements and best wishes for the future.
