Summary
This Act amends the Charter of the Village of Ardentown by modifying the corporate limits of the Village. The Act further amends the Charter by increasing the length of the term served by the Chairperson of the Town Meeting from one year to two years. The Act limits the Chairperson to two consecutive terms. Effective November 2012, the Chairperson is elected in every even-numbered year. The Act further amends the Charter by increasing the length of the term served by the Secretary of the Town Meeting from one year to two years. The Secretary shall be elected in every odd-numbered year effective November 2013. In the absence of the Chairperson, the Secretary or someone designated by the Chairperson may preside over Town Meetings. The Act also amends the Charter by correcting a technical error.
