AN ACT
prescribing appeal deadlines for the state personnel board.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. State personnel board; appeal deadlines; delayed repeal
A. Notwithstanding section 41‑785, subsection A, Arizona Revised Statutes, the state personnel board may hear an appeal of a decision to dismiss a state employee, suspend a state employee for more than forty working hours or demote a state employee as a result of disciplinary action as soon as reasonably possible after receiving the written appeal.
B. Notwithstanding section 41‑785, subsection E, Arizona Revised Statutes, the state personnel board may enter its decision on the appeal at the board's next open public meeting after the conclusion of the hearing and send a copy of the decision to the affected parties.
C. This section is repealed from and after December 31, 2011.
