AN ACT

 

amending Title 15, chapter 5, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-509; relating to school employees.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 15, chapter 5, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-509, to read:

START_STATUTE15-509.  Teacher in-service training; scheduling; definition

A.  A school district that schedules teacher in‑service training during a school year shall schedule the in-service training for both:

1.  An entire school day.

2.  A Monday or a Friday.

B.  For the purposes of this section, "Teacher in‑service training" means time designated during the school year in which classes are not held and teachers are required to report to the school or another site for training, professional development, team-building exercises, meetings, lesson planning, self‑study or any combination of these tasks.END_STATUTE
