AN ACT
amending title 38, chapter 8, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 38-1110; relating to law enforcement officers.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 38, chapter 8, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 38-1110, to read:
38-1110. Protective armor; reimbursement; replacement
A law enforcement agency that receives monies pursuant to section 12-116.04 or 41-1723 for officer safety equipment shall do the following:
1. Reimburse a law enforcement officer who purchases protective armor in an amount of, at a minimum, one thousand two hundred seventy-five dollars or the actual cost of the protective armor.
2. On expiration of the service life of a law enforcement officer's protective armor, Replace the law enforcement officer's protective armor with protective armor that meets current national standards for protective armor.
