AN ACT
AMENDING Title 15, chapter 7, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-701.02; RELATING TO SCHOOL CURRICULUM.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 15, chapter 7, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-701.02, to read:
15-701.02. Public school standards and assessments; prohibition
A. Notwithstanding any other law, the state board of education may not implement the common core standards, this state's college and career ready standards or any other standards or assessments that are developed outside this state. Any rules that were previously adopted by the state board of education and that conflict with this subsection are void on the effective date of this section.
B. Notwithstanding any other law, the state board of education may not adopt or revise standards in a manner that would effectively implement the common core standards, this state's college and career ready standards or any other standards or assessments that are developed outside this state. Any rules that were previously adopted by the state board of education and that conflict with this subsection are void on the effective date of this section.
