AN ACT

 

amending Title 45, chapter 1, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 45-142; relating to the use of Colorado river water.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 45, chapter 1, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 45-142, to read:

START_STATUTE45-142. Limitation on Colorado River water transfers

A person with a claim for rights to use any amount of the one hundred sixty four thousand six hundred fifty two acre-feet of fourth priority Colorado River water that is subject to the Boulder Canyon project act (45 Stat. 1057) and that is available to water users in this state for use on federal, state or privately owned lands in this state may not transfer or otherwise convey that claim for use of that water to any location or use other than an agricultural, municipal, domestic, commercial or industrial use in a Colorado River community.
