AN ACT
amending title 13, chapter 29, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 13-2931; relating to offenses against public order.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 13, chapter 29, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 13-2931, to read:
13-2931. Laser possession at a riot or unlawful assembly; classification; definition
A. A person commits laser possession at a riot or unlawful assembly if the person knowingly possesses a high intensity laser at the location of a riot or unlawful assembly.
B. it is an affirmative defense to a prosecution under this section that the person possesses the high intensity laser in the normal course of the person's occupation.
C. Laser possession at a riot or unlawful assembly is a class 1 misdemeanor.
D. For the purposes of this section, "high intensity laser" means a laser pointer or laser emitting device that has a power measurement of at least five milliwatts.
