AN ACT
amending Title 41, chapter 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41-110; relating to the governor's office.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 41, chapter 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-110, to read:
41-110. Arizona-Israel commission; members; duties; commission termination
A. The Arizona‑Israel commission is established under the governor's office consisting of the following members:
1. Five members who are appointed by the governor.
2. One member who is appointed by the president of the senate.
3. One member who is appointed by the minority leader of the senate.
4. One member who is appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives.
5. One member who is appointed by the minority leader of the house of representatives.
B. Commission members are not eligible to receive compensation, but members are eligible for reimbursement of expenses under title 38, chapter 4, article 2. Commission members serve three-year terms.
C. The governor's office shall provide office space and staff support to the commission.
D. The commission shall:
1. Facilitate commercial relationships between Israel and this state.
2. Promote the growth of tourism between Israel and this state to contribute to this state's economic and cultural development.
3. Facilitate and promote a stronger bilateral relationship between Israel and this state.
E. The commission established by this section ends on July 1, 2028 pursuant to section 41-3103.
Sec. 2. Initial terms of members of the Arizona-Israel commission
A. Notwithstanding section 41-110, Arizona Revised Statutes, as added by this act, the initial terms of members of the Arizona-Israel commission are:
1. Three terms ending January 1, 2022.
2. Three terms ending January 1, 2023.
3. Three terms ending January 1, 2024.
B. The appropriate official shall make all subsequent appointments as prescribed by statute.
