AN ACT
amending Title
16, chapter 1, article 5, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 16-167;
relating to qualification and registration of electors.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 16, chapter 1, article 5, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 16-167, to read:
16-167. Federal form
registrations; citizenship; reregistration
The secretary of state and the attorney general
may assist persons who are registered to vote and who are ELIGIBLE to vote a
ballot with only federal offices by providing the persons an opportunity to
reregister to vote with proof of citizenship as prescribed by SECTION
16-166. The secretary of state and the
attorney general may:
1. have access to information in the
statewide voter registration database regarding the number of persons who have
registered without PROOF of citizenship.
2. Obtain and Compare information
with other state and multistate databases that may have information to assist
in DETERMINING whether registrants have provided PROOF of citizenship for other
purposes, including driver licenses.
3. Notify those persons of the
opportunity to reregister and request their reregistration.
