AN ACT
APPROPRIATING monies to the department of transportation.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Appropriation; department of transportation; bridge; reversion; intent
A. The sum of $5,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2022-2023 to the department of transportation to distribute to Lake Havasu City as follows:
1. The department shall distribute $200,000 to Lake Havasu City to conduct a feasibility and environmental study concerning the construction of an emergency evacuation bridge in Lake Havasu City.
2. If the feasibility and environmental study supports the construction of an emergency evacuation bridge in Lake Havasu City, the department shall distribute $4,800,000 to Lake Havasu City for the design and engineering of the emergency evacuation bridge in Lake Havasu City.
B. Notwithstanding section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, the appropriations made in subsection A of this section that are unexpended and unencumbered on June 30, 2025 revert to the state general fund.
C. The legislature intends that the bridge be named the Freedom Bridge.
