An Act

 

appropriating monies to the department of water resources.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Appropriations; department of water resources; water grant writer; report

A. The sum of $100,000 and one full-time equivalent position are appropriated from the state general fund in each of fiscal years 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 to the department of water resources for a water grant writer.  The grant writer shall assist counties and municipalities with applying for water-related grants and executing grant awards.

B. On or before September 1, 2026, the department shall report to the president of the senate, the speaker of the house of representatives, the governor and the secretary of state:

1. The number of successful grant awards that the grant writer assisted with.

2. The total dollar value of the successful awards.

3. The counties and municipalities that received the successful awards.
