A JOINT RESOLUTION

 

declaring sexual exploitation and sex trafficking of minor children to be a public health crisis in the state of arizona.

Whereas, sexual exploitation and sex trafficking are crippling problems that destroy the lives of their victims, devastate families and have a severe detrimental effect on communities; and

Whereas, sexual exploitation and sex trafficking are growing problems in many states, including in the State of Arizona; and

Whereas, declaring sexual exploitation and sex trafficking to be a public health crisis in Arizona will increase public awareness of these devastating issues as well as possible solutions that citizens, communities and this state can take to counter the destructive effects on innocent lives.

Therefore

Be it resolved by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

That the State of Arizona declares sexual exploitation and sex trafficking to be a public health crisis in this state.
