A RESOLUTION
supporting the construction and operation of a fisher house in phoenix to serve service members, veterans and their families.
(TEXT OF BILL BEGINS ON NEXT PAGE)
Whereas, for the dedicated men and women who serve in our nation's armed forces, the cost of battle continues long after the last round is fired; and
Whereas, veterans continue to bear the burden of the wars they fought and the wounds they carry; and
Whereas, the sacred responsibility for caring for these valiant warriors falls to the veterans' families, their communities and their leaders; and
Whereas, our wounded, injured and ill service members and their families need a home away from home; and
Whereas, the Fisher House Foundation builds comfort homes where service members and veterans and their families can stay free of charge while a loved one is in the hospital.
Therefore
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona:
That the Members of the House of Representatives support the construction and operation of a Fisher House near the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Phoenix.
