AN ACT
Repealing section 41‑3016.14, Arizona Revised Statutes; amending title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41‑3022.24; relating to the oil and gas conservation commission.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Repeal
Section 41-3016.14, Arizona Revised Statutes, is repealed.
Sec. 2. Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3022.24, to read:
41-3022.24. Oil and gas conservation commission; termination July 1, 2022
A. The oil and gas conservation commission terminates on July 1, 2022.
B. Title 27, chapter 4, article 1 is repealed on January 1, 2023.
Sec. 3. Purpose
Pursuant to section 41‑2955, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, the legislature continues the oil and gas conservation commission to regulate the drilling for and production of oil, gas, helium and geothermal resources, promote the conservation of these resources, protect ownership rights of these resources, safeguard the public health and otherwise effect the public policy of this state pursuant to section 27‑502, Arizona Revised Statutes.
Sec. 4. Retroactivity
Sections 1 and 2 of this act are effective retroactively to July 1, 2016.
