AN ACT
amending section 5-515.02, Arizona Revised Statutes; relating to the state lottery.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Section 5-515.02, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended to read:
5-515.02. Purchase of lottery tickets or shares by persons under twenty‑one years of age; penalty
A. Until June 1, 2003, it is unlawful for a person under eighteen years of age to purchase a lottery ticket or share. Beginning on June 1, 2003, It is unlawful for a person under twenty‑one years of age to purchase a lottery ticket or share.
B. Until June 1, 2003, a person under eighteen years of age who knowingly purchases a lottery ticket or share is guilty of a petty offense. Beginning on June 1, 2003, it is unlawful for a person under twenty‑one years of age to purchase a lottery ticket or share.
b. a knowing violation of subsection a is a petty offense.
