AN ACT
Repealing section 41-3013.03, Arizona Revised Statutes; amending title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41‑3023.03; relating to the arizona state schools for the deaf and the blind.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Repeal
Section 41-3013.03, Arizona Revised Statutes, is repealed.
Sec. 2. Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3023.03, to read:
41-3023.03. Arizona state schools for the deaf and the blind; termination July 1, 2023
A. The board of directors of the arizona state schools for the deaf and the blind terminates on July 1, 2023.
B. Title 15, chapter 11 is repealed on January 1, 2024.
Sec. 3. Purpose
Pursuant to section 41-2955, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, the legislature continues the Arizona state schools for the deaf and the blind to promote and maintain an educational opportunity of adequate scope and quality for sensory impaired children in this state that will lead to an adult life of independence and self‑sufficiency, a meaningful personal, family and community life and a useful and productive occupational life.
Sec. 4. Retroactivity
Sections 1 and 2 of this act are effective retroactively to July 1, 2013.
