Section 15-249.08, Arizona Revised Statutes, is repealed.
Sec. 2. Appropriation; department of education; special education compensatory grants
The sum of $68,600,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2021-2022 to the department of education for the purposes of providing special education compensatory grants.
Sec. 3. Intent
The Legislature intends that the $68,600,000 appropriation in the baseline budget dedicated to results-based funding instead be redirected to the department of education for the purposes of providing special education compensatory grants to support schools in recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring that students receive the educational services to which they are entitled by law.
