AN ACT
Appropriating monies to the department of veterans' services.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Appropriation; department of veterans' services; veteran service officers; intent; exemption
A. The sum of $2,200,000 and 20 FTE positions are appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2019-2020 to the department of veterans' services to hire veteran service officers to provide services in rural tribal nations in this state that have communities that are located one hundred miles or more from the nearest United States department of veterans affairs service center.
B. It is the intent of the Legislature that the monies appropriated pursuant to subsection A of this section be collected and identified from revenues collected on Indian reservations in this state pursuant to section 42-5029, subsection A, paragraph 3, Arizona Revised Statutes.
C. The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
