AN ACT
Amending title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 36-2903.08; relating to the Arizona health care cost containment system.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-2903.08, to read:
36-2903.08. Pharmacists; AHCCCS members; cash payments
A pharmacist who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 18 and who is a provider under this article shall ensure that members are not using cash payments as a method to circumvent contractor oversight of controlled substance use. A pharmacist shall notify the contractor and the prescriber of a member's attempt to use cash to pay for controlled substances rather than using benefits provided under this article.
