AN ACT
Appropriating monies to the department of education.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Supplemental appropriation; department of education; 2021 summer school grants; exemption
A. The sum of $25,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2020-2021 to the department of education to award grants to school districts for funding summer school programs for the summer of 2021. The department shall establish grant application criteria and shall give priority to title 1 schools when awarding grants.
B. The appropriation made in this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to the lapsing of appropriations.
