An act to add Section 94 to the Education Code, relating to school districts.

AB 2034, as introduced, Megan Dahle. School districts: frontier school district.
Existing law establishes the Education Code and sets forth general provisions, rules of construction, and definitions that govern its construction.
This bill, for purposes of the Education Code, would define “frontier school district” to mean a school district that meets certain attendance or population criteria.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 94 is added to the Education Code, to read:

94.
 “Frontier school district” means a school district that meets either of the following conditions:
(a) The total number of pupils in average daily attendance at all of the schools served by the school district is fewer than 600.
(b) Each county in which a school operated by the school district is located has a total population density fewer than 10 persons per square mile.
