BILL NUMBER: AB 859 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Gomez FEBRUARY 21, 2013 An act relating to professions and vocations. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 859, as introduced, Gomez. Professions and vocations: military medical personnel. Existing law provides for the licensure and regulation of various professions and vocations by boards within the Department of Consumer Affairs. This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would promote and pursue programmatic changes to nursing and paramedic licensure requirements for California's military medical personnel in order to recognize the talent, skills, and training of these military medical personnel. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would promote and pursue programmatic changes to nursing and paramedic licensure requirements for California's military medical personnel in order to recognize the talent, skills, and training of these military medical personnel.
