	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

SB 1120, Galgiani. Local water supply programs or projects:
funding.
Existing law requires the Department of Water Resources to update,
every 5 years, the plan for the orderly and coordinated control,
protection, conservation, development, and use of the water resources
of the state, which is known as the California Water Plan. The
department also is required annually to prepare and submit to the
Legislature a report with regard to the budget for the State Water
Resources Development System.
This bill would require the department to conduct a voluntary
statewide survey of local regional water supply projects and post
specified results of the survey on the department's Internet Web site
by July 1, 2015.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Section 147.3 is added to the Water Code, to read:
147.3. (a) (1) The department shall conduct a voluntary statewide
survey of local regional water supply projects and post the results
of the survey on the department's Internet Web site by July 1, 2015.
   (2) For purposes of complying with paragraph (1), the department
may use any other survey that it conducted in conjunction with other
agencies or third parties.
   (b) The survey information posted on the department's Internet Web
site pursuant to subdivision (a) shall include, but not be limited
to, all of the following:
   (1) The projected date for a project to complete the permit
process and subsequently commence operations.
   (2) The cost of the project.
   (3) The projected additional acre feet of water realized on an
annual basis.
