BILL NUMBER: SB 1294 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Senator Hollingsworth FEBRUARY 19, 2010 An act to amend Section 2827 of the Fish and Game Code, relating to fish and wildlife. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 1294, as introduced, Hollingsworth. Natural community conservation plans. The Natural Community Conservation Planning Act authorizes the Department of Fish and Game to enter into agreements with any person or public entity for the purpose of preparing a natural community conservation plan, to provide comprehensive management and conservation of multiple wildlife species. The act requires each natural community conservation plan to include an implementation agreement governing specified matters. The act requires that the implementation of a plan, to the extent practicable, use the services of either the California Conservation Corps or local community conservation corps. This bill would authorize the use of both state and local community conservation corps. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 2827 of the Fish and Game Code is amended to read: 2827. To the extent practicable, implementation of natural community conservation plans shall use the services of either the California Conservation Corps or local community conservation corps , or both .
