An act relating to elections.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

SB 3, as introduced, Cervantes. Election results.
Existing law requires elections officials to commence the canvass for an election no later than the Thursday following the election, to make the canvass open to the public, and, for state or statewide elections, to report the results to the Secretary of State. The canvass must be continued daily, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays excepted, for not less than six hours each day until completed.
This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to revise the process of reporting election results by county elections officials, and to make modifications to the canvass of the vote.
