LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
The California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the state. Statutory provisions establish procedures for making that reimbursement.
This bill would provide that no reimbursement is required by this act for a specified reason.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
SECTION 1.
The Legislature finds and declares all of the following:SEC. 2.
Title 5 (commencing with Section 40000) is added to the Corporations Code, to read:TITLE 5. Climate Risk Disclosures
26000.40000.
As used in this division:26001.40001.
(a) On or before December 31, 2022, and annually thereafter, a covered entity shall prepare a climate-related financial risk report disclosing both of the following:26003.40002.
The advisory group shall do all of the following:26004.40003.
(a) The office shall make available to the public, on its internet website, all climate-related financial risk reports obtained by the advisory group.No reimbursement is required by this act pursuant to Section 6 of Article XIII B of the California Constitution because the only costs that may be incurred by a local agency or school district will be incurred because this act creates a new crime or infraction, eliminates a crime or infraction, or changes the penalty for a crime or infraction, within the meaning of Section 17556 of the Government Code, or changes the definition of a crime within the meaning of Section 6 of Article XIII B of the California Constitution.
