An act to amend Section 130508 of the Health and Safety Code, relating to prescription drugs.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
SB 476, as introduced, Nguyen.
Discount Prescription Drug Program.
Existing law, the California Discount Prescription Drug Program, requires the State Department of Health Care Services to negotiate drug discount agreements with drug manufacturers, as specified. Existing law authorizes any licensed pharmacy and any drug manufacturer, as defined, to participate in the program. Existing law establishes eligibility criteria and application procedures for eligible Californians to participate in the program. Existing law also establishes the California Discount Prescription Drug Program Fund into which all payments received under the program would be deposited and provides that moneys in the fund be made available, upon appropriation, to the department for purposes of the program.
This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to those provisions.
