   An act to amend Section 6401 of the Labor Code, relating to
employment.



	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   SB 743, as introduced, Hall. Occupational safety and health.
   Existing law requires every employer to furnish and use safety
devices and safeguards, and to adopt and use practices which are
reasonably adequate to render the employment and place of employment
safe and healthful. Existing law requires every employer to do every
other thing reasonably necessary to protect the life, safety, and
health of employees.
   This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to this provision.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 6401 of the Labor Code is amended to read:
   6401.  Every employer shall furnish and use safety devices and
safeguards, and shall adopt and use practices, means, methods,
operations, and processes  which   that are
reasonably adequate to render such employment and place of
employment safe and healthful. Every employer shall do every other
thing reasonably necessary to protect the life, safety, and health of
employees.
