CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE— 2025–2026 REGULAR SESSION

Senate Bill
No. 811

Introduced by Senator Caballero

February 21, 2025

An act to amend Section 4050 of the Civil Code, relating to civil law.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

SB 811, as introduced, Caballero. Common interest developments: document delivery.
Existing law, the Davis-Stirling Common Interest Development Act, governs the management and operation of common interest developments, and requires an association to manage a common interest development. Existing law makes delivery of a document pursuant to those provisions complete upon either its deposit into the United States mail or upon electronic transmission.
This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to those provisions.
Vote: MAJORITY   Appropriation: NO   Fiscal Committee: NO   Local Program: NO

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.

Section 4050 of the Civil Code is amended to read:

4050.
 (a) This section governs the delivery of a document pursuant to this act.
(b) If a document is delivered by mail, delivery is deemed to be complete on upon deposit into the United States mail.
(c) If a document is delivered by electronic means, delivery is complete at the time of transmission.
