BILL NUMBER: SB 934 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Senator Anderson FEBRUARY 18, 2011 An act to amend Section 8543.1 of the Government Code, relating to state government. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 934, as introduced, Anderson. Bureau of State Audits. Existing law sets forth the duties and authority of the Bureau of State Audits generally. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to these provisions. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 8543.1 of the Government Code is amended to read: 8543.1. The duties of the Bureau of State Audits are to examine and report annually upon the financial statements prepared by the executive branch of the state , and to perform other related assignments, including performance audits, that are mandated by statute. For the purposes of this chapter "bureau" means the "Bureau of State Audits," unless the context clearly requiresotherwisethat a different meaning be given to the term .
