AN ACT INCREASING ECS AID TO TOWNS TO COMPENSATE FOR THE MAGNET SCHOOL TUITION REQUIREMENT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 10-262h of the general statutes be repealed and that chapter 172 of the general statutes be amended to increase state aid under the education cost sharing formula to compensate towns for losses incurred as a result of being responsible for paying the tuition of students attending interdistrict magnet schools.
Statement of Purpose:
To compensate towns for the increased local costs in meeting the state requirement that towns pay the tuition for students attending interdistrict magnet schools.
