AN ACT CONCERNING STATE EMPLOYEES WHO ARE EXEMPT FROM CLASSIFIED SERVICE AND DEFINED CONTRIBUTION RETIREMENT PLANS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require all state employees and officials who are exempt from classified service to participate in a defined contribution benefit plan rather than the current defined benefit system.
Statement of Purpose:
To help reduce the overall cost of the state employee workforce in Connecticut by shifting certain state employees to a defined contribution retirement plan.
