AN ACT EXTENDING THE NOTIFICATION PERIOD TO INSURERS FOLLOWING THE BIRTH OF A CHILD.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to extend the period during which an insurer may require notification of the birth of a child, for the purpose of continuing health insurance coverage for such child, from thirty-one days following the birth of such child to ninety-one days.

Statement of Purpose:

To extend the amount of time a family has to notify an insurer of the birth of a child.
