AN ACT IMPLEMENTING THE MILLIMAN REPORT'S RECOMMENDATIONS TO ACHIEVE COST SAVINGS IN THE HUSKY PROGRAM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to implement certain recommendations of the report prepared by Milliman Inc. in May, 2009 to achieve cost savings in the HUSKY program, including, but not limited to: (1) Recovering fifty million dollars in over payments from managed care organizations, (2) replacing sealed bids with negotiated bids, (3) conducting an annual audit of the program, (4) implementing primary care case management state wide, and (5) providing primary care case management to children in the HUSKY B program and members of the Charter Oak Health Plan.
Statement of Purpose:
To implement the Milliman Report's recommendations to achieve cost savings in the HUSKY program.
